![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Being a new Prowler owner and looking forward to Spring, I need your input! I have read that for my year Prowler (2001), there was a recall for: 1997-02: Some vehicles may have defective lower control arm ball joints, resulting in possible loss of steering control. Dealer will inspect and replace affected parts. I need to know how to find out if the recall was completed on my car. That being said, are the dealerships still obligated to honor the recall notices if the repairs were never completed. Is there ever a time limit on such repairs! ![]() Thanks, Pierre N |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hi Pierre, Welcome! I should think that if you gave your VIN to your local Chrysler dealer, the recall work would come up - providing it was done at a dealership I suppose. Also, so long as the recall was not yet done, I should also think that Chrysler is obligated to still do it for you free of charge under the TSB Recall notice. Good luck ... let us know what you find. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() All you need to do is take your VIN# to any Chrysler or Dodge dealer service department,,,and ask the service writer to run a 'Chrysler VIP SUMMARY REPORT' on your car. That print-out will tell you what work has been done on your car at any Chrysler/Dodge dealerships during its life time... They probably will not let you have that print-out to take with you,,,but atleast you can read it. Good luck! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Still Valid, I had my ball joints done a couple weeks ago. Call your local dealership and have them run a VIN check. If it has not been done, they will still honor it. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Put a mirror under the ball joint. If there is an X in the end of the number, it has been done. |
