I have just mounted new tires and installed new TPMS sensors I am having a problem with the new sensors being recognized by my obd I've been to two tire shops the first was unable to scan the sensors for their id# the last one was able too and activate the sensors but when the reader is plugged into obd it will not communicate with the reader . The TPMS are made by tpms24/7 and have been working with me but not having any luck. Has anyone ever had a problem like this and can obd be locked out ? I have double checked that I have the correct sensors

If you are installing new sensors the ID numbers are on the new sensors and can be written down before installation making it easier if the numbers are already known.

What sensors did you install and what year is your Prowler?

I have a 2001 prowler and the problem seems to be we can't get the scanner to communicate with the obd to set the new id's of the sensors. I am in the process of finding another tire shop this will be my 4th shop . The scanner brings up some of the information on the computer but not able to get to the TPMS area .

Ok so you know there is a system in place . OEM
4815-132-AB
This is the part number for the module .
sensor for tire are no longer available.
D\C

Now as far as I know the sensor are no longer available for the 2001 system.
(some people)
People have switched everything over to the 2002 module
with a different sensor.

If you have the OEM module in your car it will not work.

What system did you put in the car Module and sensors.?...

Thanks everyone for your input I'm still working on this . It is my understanding that there is only two types of sensors 315 megahertz and 433 I have installed the correct sensors for the car and now they must be matched to the car . The way these need to be done is scan each sensor starting with left front and then right front and right rear then left rear . Now the scanner needs to be plugged into obd and it should let you update the TPMS system. The firestone tire store was able to do everything until it got to the step for updating to new sensors to the obd it would not let them into that part of the system they say they have never had this problem but couldn't say they have ever done a prowler before. I'm wondering if this system is unique and won't allow for after market sensors?
Teach support for the company says that don't believe so and are researching the issue company name is TPMS 24/7

Good luck

Just a guess but I think you have the module of the OEM 2001 brain .
Sensors were discontinued . Prowler owners had the option to switch to the 2002 sensor module and sensors that was a cheaper and available .
You now have the sensors for the 2002 tpms which is different . The module in your car is for a 2001. ( unless you have updated it to 2002)
It will not work. Take top of dash of and access part number of the blue module. In the picture above .

Plymouth Prowler (1997-2002) Tire Pressure Sensor Factory Conversion Kit
If you would like to convert your 1997-2001 Prowler to use the 2002 Prowler tire pressure sensor system because the replacement sensors are much less expensive - then this kit is for you.
Includes primary module and 4 tire sensors.
If you use this system you must replace ALL of your current sensors with the 2002 type.
Once you convert to these new sensors every time one of your tire sensors goes out it will cost you $89.95 and NOT $245.00!

You can get it all from us for less than the Prowler store.
Or you can order it from the dealer at retail for less than the Prowler store also.
