Sam, welcome and you don't ever have to apologize for making a suggestion.
The 2003 is in Gatlinburg, TN and not Gettysburg, PA. just for clarification.
We went to the Grand Canyon a couple of years ago and then to Deadwood, SD last year. This year we went to Denver so next year it is coming much farther east, to TN. The west is totally beautiful but we wanted something a little closer so the the East Coast people could make it.
There is discussion already for the 2004 event. Canada has to be in the running in the very near future. The Canadian owners are a great bunch and a lot of them speak English. I think their olympic hockey team did okay recently, too.
Try to make one of the events. You will have a great time.

Hi Ed,

Thank you Ed, I will try to attend next year event if possible for me to drive that for on my KAT.

Calgary Alberta is not a bad place, but still close to the West.

I may attend one of the event this year in California.

Sam

Tennessee or somewhere in the southeast will be a new adventure for us. We have never been in that area and are looking forward to more Prowler excitement. We figure on travelling at least 2 maybe 3 days there and 2 or 3 days back. For us, it means taking a week off and travelling on weekends. Catavaning with others from the Northwest and Canada would be wonderful!

On the tours so far having a dinner or social event the first night means a lot: a chance to see old friends, meet new people and if this happens next to the cars it is a real kick.

Cruising together through the scenery is the ultimate,
and the less hassle with traffic the better.

Getting together on the last evening at the end of the cruise brings it all together, and it is way better if we do not have to drive anywhere after the party so we are ready to roll home after a night's sleep first thing in the mornng.

Has any thought been given to staying in the Pigeon Forge area instead of Gatlinburg ? May be a lot easier for people to get around with trailers and to keep people in groups, without getting separated.

Gary - let's talk tonight. It seemds to me we will probably be better off staying outside the city of Gatlinburg as you say. One downside to Pigeaon Forge is it is "dry", meaning no lounges in the hotel.

That would not bother some people but Cnote and the entire Dallas contingent, Bob G., MeanGene, Dean, you/Kelly & Rebeeca & I, and several others would have to find another hotel! Why do think we are picking it out.

Seriously, it would not nbe THE deciding factor, but if we can find a hotel with a full service restaurant & bar near other restaurants it would be better.

Gary, when you take the drive this week-end, check out the very large complex in Townsend. I would absolutely recommend NOT staying in Gatlinburg. The traffic is unbearable. Townsend is 19 miles from Pigeon Forge.

Not to worry Marty I have only 19 more to finish for orders and then I can have a new one, if nothing else I can use my slow Prowler to pull your trailer.

Bob,

As you may know - drinkin' produces double vision - so you only have 9 more units to go. I'll have another one also

The whole Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Maggie Valley area is pretty nice. Another area you may want to look at is the Cherokee NC area. There are a number of hotels in the area and not near as crowded. As for the cruising - I think every bit as scenic if not more. We stayed in that area for a week a while back and enjoyed it. They have hosted a couple of big Harley events in the past so they should be able to handle 60 or so Prowlers. If not, I would definitely recommend it for a cruise. It is only 42 miles from Gatlinburg and is on the Cherokee reservation.

The Cincinnati Enquirer travel section did a fine piece on Tenn. in the Sunday edition. Here are some websites to check out. www.vacationeasttennnessee.org and scroll down and select visit us, scroll down to Sevier county. It lists the phone numbers, websites and email addresses of the 3 main cities, Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg for the Chambers of Commerce or Travel Bureaus. Here are some other websites. www.tennesseeoverhill.com & www.southernregion.fs.fed.us/cherokee/ That should help some.

Reba & I will be cruising to East Tennessee this coming weekend and meeting Gary & Kelly Archer. We will be looking for hotels in the Gatlinburg/Townsend/Sivier County region.

Marty, are you guys going to go down the Foothills Pkwy thru Deal's Gap and on to Cherohala Skyway? Eat at Carden's and see Bald River Falls, if you do. We are going to go down there the following week (Labor Day weekend) on the m/c.

Marty check out the Best Western Valley View in Townsend. There is also another place right next door that looks like it is part of the same complex.
