Big car collector? No,,,,,he wasn't. He didn't even want to sell it, but somebody offered him over $100+K for his car, and it was gone.

He bought a new Challenger 6.4L Hemi after selling the Austin,,,,,and passed away about six months later. He wasn't that old either,,,,,sad.

Gary,,,you showed up too late for the party,,,

It only became known as the Mark I after the Mark II was released, having no designator prior. It featured a 2912 cc I6 engine, with twin SU carburetors and Girling front disc brakes. Wire wheels, overdrive gearbox, laminated windscreen, heater, adjustable steering column, detachable hard top, and two-tone paint were available as options.

I believe Beachcat bought this 1966 model.

If you look at the newer pictures the grills are vertical after 1961 and in my opinion looked better.

Ok,,, this is what was sent by the officials.

At 7:37 this was posted by Padroo.

Austin Healey 3000, i'm working n the year, about a 1961.

I rode in one a long time ago when it wasn't so old.

At 7:50 Padroo edited his post with this.

The original 3000 was built from March 1959 to March 1961 as models BN7 Mark I (2-seater) and BT7 Mark I (2+2 version).

By editing his post,,, he posted sufficient information for the win.

AC posted the correct information for the vehicle pictured at 8:52,,, 62 min after Padroo's correct edited post.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Sooooo, Padroo wins. I pay the officials plenty cash to keep the POS Fridays fair and balanced.

AC,, your still ahead so stop your blitchin,,,LOL.

Gary,, I posted at 8:30 so you guys can hit the hay,,, and I figured your brains are functioning better at 8:30 than 9.
