I am assuming he means large car trailers. We will check into it and get a solution so the answer will be "Yes".

Spoons

As I said to you during our phone call 2 weeks ago. I would be able to respond to the whole issue after March 6, 2003. That said I will have a update at that time.

The room is directly over the Canadian side of the falls and we will be able to see the falls directly from our seats. Great view especially as the Falls are lit up at night. It is within a short walking distance of the hotel and the main street of the Falls area.

Security

We ( Local Prowler Owners )have decided to add our own security for the stay at the hotel. They do provide a secure area with barriers and video camera’s but with so many Kats and so many visitors to the area the local owners felt an increase presence would not hurt.

We are planning a raffle to pay for the additional expense for this service. So donations are welcome to assist in off setting this cost. Hint Hint.

We would also like to extend our welcome to anyone wishing to attend earlier activities in the Toronto Canada area during the week prior .
Please let us know if you are interested and we will be more then happy to plan events for us all to enjoy.

Require: names of those attending, Prov/State coming from, number of nights attending and color of “Kat”. Also if you are going to attend the dinner sat. night.

Thanks Don, I think that putting you "down for everything" includes covering the cost of the security. What a guy. I guess you still had some coin left after cruising the seas.

Fredd06, no this is a New Hotel old one was Radisson Fallsview. Only just made new arrangements.

CJ and others, this is to cover the cost of them suppling their secure parking. We want to go beyond that, they will catch anyone around the Kats but may not Prevent someone from doing something.

Others who signed up to other Hotel need to make New arrangements at the Marriott Courtyard.

Tom, Santella, Meangene, Spoons, CT prowler, Gary C; Hack1320, Jerrywick, J.Wallis, Steven R.Gar. I tried to get this info from the threads on this trip so if I missed anyone sorry.

I will be making a list and up dating it once a week as we go forward. Hope this has helped everyone and sorry for the inconvenience but we feel this is a much better solution to the parking etc.

Please don't forget to let us know if you are interested in coming early to Toronto for a few days.

.Brian

Confused today. Hope someone can help me. Brian gives us a quote of $206 US for both nights total. You can get a package deal (2 breakfasts and 1 dinner) for $226. Ok, so I am thinking the package deal sounds great. I called the hotel yesterday to book and the gentleman tells me it is $77US a night. Last night I start thinking he misquoted me for Saturdays rate. Call there again today. Talked to the same gentleman. (he remembers me being the POA group)He says it is $77US for each night. Better rate than going with the package. (now he thinks I am nuts and is wondering where I am coming up with my info) Can someone end the confusion for me.

How are the Prowler trailers being treated since we have to pay for parking? Will that mean we pay for two spaces?

We made our reservations today. We were told it was $77 US for Friday night and $129 US for Saturday night. We upgraded to a Jacuzzi suite for $90 US for Friday night and $148 US for Saturday night!

We will attend the dinner, also.

Hi All,

I just got the Computer set up here in Florida. Looks like the upgrades that CJ made with her reservations is a must!

Does anyone know where I can rent a Prowler in the Niagara Falls/Buffalo Area?

Brian King - Thanks for posting the info on the hotel while I was on the road to FL.

Cars and trailers are treated as one for each room, car haulers/trucks are treated as one. The hotel has enough room for all of us and our vehicles.

Checking with the Hotel but sounds like someone at their end made a mistake on the Price S/B $77 and $129 US approx. per night.

Having an issue with the hotel regarding upgraded rooms being applied to our contract. Right now they are saying we do not receive credit for those people upgrading, we signed a contract for 50 rooms per night of the 2 Queens. If we don't meet the contract numbers they say ( I ) will be responsible for the missed reservations. Only way is to have people book the Queens as per contract and hope they can upgrade at time of check in if rooms are available.

Boy try and figure that one out, here we are spending more money and they don't appreciate it.

Has anyone else run into this type of problem when booking rooms for our other events?

Brian,

I feel sorry for you buddy!
Few people realize just how much work goes on behind the scenes in planning an event this size or even the smaller ones.

I've done a few large events and have never had the kind of problems that you are encountering. My advice is to talk to the hotel management again and just state matter of factly that you will NOT be responsible for any rooms left unbooked. I would never put my personal guaranty on anything like what they are asking you to do. If you lose the hotel, try another one but putting yourself in debt due to this contract is foolish.
Hotels are in business to make money and they only way they do that is to have people book their rooms. If this hotel won't accept the pre-payments from the POA people attending as a stand alone contract, then find one that will. There are good hotels and helpful people working at them that will do whatever it takes to get their rooms booked. One consession that you may offer the hotel would be a higher rate in exchange for no contract. An extra $10.00 per day isn't going to keep the people away but may help your bargaining position with the hotel quite a bit. I have always been able to get a meeting or hospitality room at no charge when booking this amount of rooms and our hotels have always asked us to return again, normally telling me that they'll help us even more the next time.
It sounds to me like your situation will only get worse and maybe it's time to get more cooperation from the hotel or just pull the plug and let it flow over the falls.

Good luck Brian.
I hope it works out for you. If I can help out by getting references from some of our previous hotels, please let me know and I'll work on that.

Gosh, Brian...........if they won't accept the upgrade towards the contract, let us know and we will downgrade. You would think they would appreciate the upgrades (more money). Sorry, we didn't know. Thanks also for the explanation on the parking fee..totally understand and no problem.........worth the extra security.

Thanks for all the hard work you've put into this event..we are really looking forward to it!
