Looking over the Wintergreen~~rates are only $65 a nite in June...unless July 18-22 is in granite...it'd save $70 for the 5 nights duration if anyone cares! But what's $70 bucks! Geno thanks for checking and if the group wants to go that direction I am in for that also. The reason behind the Dells is at many events people would like to bring the entire family and that is also why I chose July. If I am wrong in what I've heard please speak up. I just figured and I may be wrong but we can have our POA group adult activities during the day and the kids can have something to do then we can break off into smaller groups in the evening and families can also spend time together. I'm wide open, but if the Dells is the destination I want to lock the hotel by next Friday. ------------------ |

PS, the Fond du Lac area is very scenic and Genos correct many things to do also. Gene for the people with children do they have some day activities close? And at $40 a night savings the $200.00, times 50 cars I might make some serious cash. ------------------ |

The wintergreen sounds very car club friendly. They are close to everything, and the price is very good! My vote goes to wintergreen!!! |

Stick with July, stay where the "activities" are if we are including "families" for this one as Dells has em all right there and would be easy to do something on our own and meet up with the group later kinda thing ... just some thoughts. Good idea though Gene, it is nice country up around there and the Oshkosh fly-in IS huge!! But I would prefer to stay IN the Dells if we are going there. Either the Wintergreen or the Howard Johnson gets my vote. |

The Date will not change, this is the only thing I am holding my ground on. I know of several people who have put in vacation request's already. Also its about the only week that will work for me.Since I have had to take a real job. ------------------ |

OK, Howard Johnsons will not match the rate from Wintergreen, I just spoke to Shirley in group sales and she is going to send me a recap on pricing, menus for the dinner, and policies. I asked her right away about deposits or cancelation fees and after talking to all the other places I cannot belive what she said: NO DEPOSIT Once I have her recap I will post room booking info, with the no deposit and no cancelation we should encourage everyone to book ASAP. ------------------ |

Talked to Geno this morning and he gives the Wintergreen the thumbs up. They are setting up in their computer today or rate discounts so we can start booking rooms tomorrow. Here are the details: Wintergreen Resort & Conference Center POA Rate Standard room $79.00 plus $8.69 tax. 1 nights stay will be charged to your card upon making your reservations, if you cancel 3 days prior to check in you will be credited 100%. We will also have our group dinner July 22nd at the hotel. I have the menu options but will wait to post till we get a little closer. Again they only have a total of 111 rooms so please book early!!!!!!! If you cancel 3 days prior it cost's you nothing. They will rope of an area just for our Prowlers and set up a wash area for us. I will start a new thread in the other events forum soon so we can keep all this info in 1 place. Thanks Geno for running over and checking it out. ------------------ |
