THANKS Laddie & Marty... maybe we can keep these links near the top and active to educate more Prowler Owners as to just what the Power Tour is... how much fun it is... how they can participate in Hot Rod History in the Making. We will see y'all there... me and 150 of my closest Prowler Friends, Jay This message has been edited by YELLER CAT on 11-08-2004 at 10:43 PM |

Even though I am biased in my thoughts about Prowlin' The Smokies, I am looking forward to the Florida Cat Pack breaking the Prowler attendence record at an event. Seeing 150 Prowlers join thousands of Hot Rod Power Tour Cars will be awesome. |

Another thought - maybe we should challange the Viper Club or some other car club to show up with more vehicles. Or get teh Viper Club to join us and challange a Mustang or Corvette club!! This message has been edited by Marty Usher on 09-22-2005 at 09:01 PM |

Does anyone have a list of the hotels for the long haul gang? Are we going to attempt to keep the Prowlers together? Will someone compile a participation list by segment for those attending to know who to look for? |

Marty is compiling the participants list by segment under 1st post this topic. Bob Goetz is trying to get heads up on hotels through his contacts (hotels not yet announced). Here's another suggestion for the Prowler group. Maybe we could tour the Mercedees plant & museum in in Tuscaloosa. That's only a 30 minute ride from Birmingham. Maybe a side trip for June 8th... Birmingham race course??? That's a dog track

Bob - I guess I'll reorganize the list. I've been playing with a way to list things better. I may settle for listing people in alphabetic order and assigning numbers to each day's leg of the trip and posting the numbers next to each name. By the way, you &* CJ let me know if you all will attend and I'll add you the listing. I contacted Hot Rod and was told the name of the hotels would be released soon. Bob Goetz is trying to get the names also form his contacts. The plan is Bob G. and I will post where we are staying but list the other hotels. In some cities, some POA people may prefer once hotel over another but we are hoping to get as many otgetehr as possible. Since we will only be in the Hotels basically tosleep and take a shower, we will NOT choose the 5 star hotels except maybe in Nashville. Opryland is a one of a kind hotel is the venue for the Power Tour there. Once we0 get to Tallahasee it would great for all 150 POA entrants to be together. Laddie - any side trip you come up with is fine with me. |

The Tallahassee location is at the North Florida Fairgrounds. The web site list these two hotels... http://www.northfloridafair.com/fair_info.php?show=hotels Maybe someone from the Florida Cat Pack who lives near Tallahassee can give us a line on a hotel to host all the Prowlers... It would be best to get that ahead of any Hot Rod Hotel announcement... Any help from FL would be appreciated... North Florida Fairgrounds Location From Interstate 10, take exit 199 and go due south on Monroe Street for 9 miles. The Fairgrounds are located at the intersection of Monroe Street and Paul Russell Road (just 2 miles past the Capitol). |

Laddie - Good idea - getting a good group rate from a NON Power Tour hotel may be the way to go in Tallahassee aAND Kissimmee! |

Marty........I asked him if he was going to take the RUMBLER, but he said with the gears in it, he wouldn't be able to keep up with the pack. The RUMBLER is not a long distance driving vehicle! |

For those who are staying in Tallahassee, there are numerous motels on Apalachee Parkway (SR27) and that is very close to the fairgrounds. Rates vary from about the 40's to well above $100. Wally |

If we have that many Prowlers in Tallahassee and the final stop, why don't we just pick our own hotels and make this a Prowler Power Tour? |

Laddie - if no one steps forward with any info on hotels in Tallahassee and Kissimmee I will initiate an inquiry through my contacts with the convention bureau. Since we are only staying one night in Tallahassee and possibly only two in Kissimmee with daily activities planned at the venues chosen by Power Tour, it seems all we really need is someplace convenient, clean and affordable with a good parking lot! |

I have made arrangements for the following rates at the Microtel Inn & Suites in Tallahassee for Thursday June 9th: Queen Room $40.00 You must talk with the specific hotel and not the chain central reservation system. Ask for the Prowler Owners Association Rate. They have a total of 91 rooms and all rooms are available on first come/first serve basis. In order to not pay for any unused rooms if we reserved a block, they will continue to take reservations from outside people also. At this time they are NOT one of the Power Tour Hotels so that group should NOT be filling up the hotel. It is located about 15 to 20 minute drive from the PT venue - The North Florida Fairgrounds. There are several decent restaurants within 1/2 mile of the hotel. PLEASE book early so we get as many of the rooms as possible. There are other motels at the same interchange if this one fills up. Because it was asked at the time we booked the hotel for Prowlin the Smokies - I did not accept any free rooms (as is a common practice in conference planning) for myself or anyone else based on the group booking this property, but rather chose to ask for any discounts to be applied to lowering the room rate for all. I am checking with the Doubletree Suites in Kissemmee for rates in that city now. Is anyone familiar with that particular property??? Thanks This message has been edited by Marty Usher on 11-11-2004 at 01:57 PM |

Marty. Thanks, I just made my reservation. Worked perfectly using the link. He said the hotel is 1/2 mile north of I-10 exit #199. About five miles to fairgrounds... Lots of restaurants... Now, anybody know of any "must sees" in the Tallahaassee area??? |
