Paying the Power tour Fee gives you the goody bag and 5 or 6 free meals plus entry to track events and any other activities planned along the way. On the 2003 tour we had seven meals provided and entry to two drag strips... Paying the fee also allows you to park with the other Power tour cars in designated areas (there are lots of cars). There was a one event Fee of $25 for locals to park with the Tour cars at each night stop. This was like a big cruise in... You can park along with the public and walk around to view all cars and that is Free... It's hard to give a recommendation for a one day stopover. For two days, I would recommend paying the power tour fee. Until you get the goody bag, you don't know how many meals will be provided... It's one Fee whether you cruise along for one day or all 8 days... In 2000 we did three days and paid the Fee. In 2003, we did the Long Haul... This year I plan to do three stops (Birm. to Kissimee) and pay the Fee... |

Laddie: Sent you a PM also ... but ... am assuming this to be a one-day leg? Not staying that night in Springfield, so ... probably no meals involved? Talking to others from the Chicago area and a "group" of us may make this run ... seems cheap money ... where do we pay, who do we contact to find out more based on our 'limited' participation? |

It was the LARGEST gathering of Prowlers @ a single Prowler Event to date... over 100 Kats participated in Prowlin' the Smokies. Pretty impressive photo to say the least. My goal is to have even more Kats participating in the 2005 Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour, at least 150 Prowlin' the Florida highways from Tallahassee to Orlando. Have your signed up? Why not? Come on and join in the FUN, FUN, FUN as we Prowl our way into the Hot Rod History Books... help us make the above picture obsolete... replacing it with a new picture displaying lots and lots more Kats, including YOURS!!! We will see y'all there... don't forget to register @ www.hotrod.com and let Marty Usher know your participating and where you will joining the tour. Best wishes, Jay |

Sorry Marty - was just a little sleepy when I posted that. You did remember my last name. And they say the mind is the first thing to go-you proved them wrong again. You really hit the nail on the head with the waterspots - the car has been in the garage unwashed (GASP-GASP) since driving home from the Turkey Rod Run in a torrential downpour.I'm trying to get the following week off from work to tag along to the Keys - rumor has it you all will need a designated driver. And Nancy - thanks for looking out for the lost one - my reservation is for Thursday night in Tallahassee. Can't wait to see everyone! Regarding the participation fees for the Hot Rod Power Tour 2005... I just received a page from Hot Rod Magazine that states the following... Advance Registration ends 23 May 2005 Advance Registration, $55 For Hot Rod Power Tour hotel reservations go to www.hotel-registration.com There you have it... there is a ONE NIGHT ONLY fee available, so if this interest you, give them a call toll free @ 877 413 6515 for the details ASAP. Additionally, we are negotiating with the Tallahassee Antique Car Museum, which has 4 Prowlers on display, for a Thursday afternoon rendezvous point. Go to www.tacm.com for museum information and I will keep y'all informed as we finalize this location. With the reduce entry fee, now more of you Kats may want to join us for this once in a lifetime Prowlin' Event. See y'all there, Jay |

Regarding the One Night Only registration, it is NOT necessary to pre-register, just register when you arrive for $20. If you decide to participate Two Nights, then you will have to register twice and your total cost will be $40. Regardless if you pre-register with the Hot Rod Power Tour or wait till you arrive, PLEASE let Marty know that you will be participating... we are very interested in the TOTAL number of Prowlers and that information will not be available from the "Official" event sources... we have to keep that updated ourselves. Best wishes, Jay |
