No matter WHEN you plan it, it will be a problem for some and better for others. Wildcat can only get off around the 4th of July. Places are busy that week, you just can't win and please everyone. You hate to have to exclude anyone but it just is not possible to make it perfect, timing wise. I would think we could run it for an entire week and have it end on Sunday morning. I was surprised to see about 30 Prowlers still at the Dells on Sat. morning. We could have stayed another day, probably. In Louisville a lot more people will have shorter drives since it is centrally located for a lot of folks. If folks have to leave on Friday, they still got to stay for most of it. Do what you need to do, Marty and hope it works out best for the majority. We will offer to help, also. |

OK - discussed with Gary Archer and we have set dates for next year. DATES SET: Subject to a hotel contract July 9 - 15, 2006. These dates accomodate my work schedule - I refuse to plan an event I can't attend - sorry to be selfish, are when school is out of session (already working on discout passes at Six Flags Ky Kingdom for kids), and maybe Larry Mayes can make a national event since this is within the first two weeks of July! More info on hotel to follow soon, then we'll work on the cruise and event agenda! |

Am confused. No more interest for out west I guess,, big loss. For more than just the west coasters. Demographics Is this when the Plymouth will be unearthed? or the next? |

John - 2006 is 12 months long - lots of time for a West Coast event to be planned. As you know I tried last month to get some interest for a West Coast event. If someone steps up to the plate and plans one I will seriously consider attending if my work schedule permits. I would love toi see a Lake Tahoe event. If not, we look to to go on the NorthWest Tour from Rapid City SD to Seattle in early Sept 2006 being planned by a group of hot rodders independent from any one car club or publication but being discussed on the HotRod message board. Our previous Louisville events in 2002 and 2003 were only "regional" events with 40 something and 30 something cars attending. The Plymouth unearthing is in Tulsa in June 2007 |

JD ... don't feel slighted ... we sure didn't with not a single Floridian (those that actually live there 24/7 I mean, we did have a couple migrant midwesterners-part time Floridians attend) making their way to the Dells for this year's event. Go with the mantra: "If you plan it ... they will come" and you will be all set! Just very hard if NOT during the summer vacation timeframe for those of us with kids, and for timeframe longer than a week as it eats up valuable vacation time for those of us that don't own our own business. |

Here is how I view it. If 30-40 show up it will be a great regional event. If more then it becomes a national event. Regardless if you are there the whole time or not come "if and when" you can. I like the idea of running it into the weekend for those who can stay longer or those that can take a day or two off work and make it a long weekend. It all works for me. This one is a great location for alot of Prowler owners and should be well attended. |

This should be enough advance notice for most people to adjust their schedules. We still plan on being there. |

Looks like I stirred it once again, if even for a little bit. Certainly do not feel "slighted" by any means. The big time loss is for the ones who won't come for whatever reason, not for me. I also understand no one has stepped up either. I'm very content to do my crusin in lower attended gigs, or even alone in my Kat. Just thought it was unfortunate that's all. Ya'all have fun, LoL. I will be in Woodward in the off years of planed events, and would like to make it in 07 for the unearthing. Other than that I will enjoy the mountains, valleys, lakes, ocean, rivers, sun, sun, sun up here in lowly Nor Cal. |

John - keep enjoying the California scenery. I hope we make there in our Prowler before CA falls off into the Pacific! |

We would like to take the kat to California at some point also, but it looks like we are pretty well booked all ready through 2007. This going to work sure is getting in the way! |

Personally I would not want to attend a national event in the same place twice since there are too many good places to go and life is too short. But since I have never attended this particuler one I would most likely attend. Corvette plant: been there, done that but that go-cart track looks cool! |

Just an "FYI" on the "been there done that" approach to the Bowling Green Assembly plant ... if you haven't been in the past 12 months, then you would be in for an ALL NEW tour that would consist of BOTH the Chevrolet Corvette (coupe, convertible and all impressive Z06) as well as the Cadillac XLR (which is actually assembled in the very same manner as the Prowler/Viper with "stations" and a non-continuous conveyor - as opposed to the Corvette). Additionally, I have contacts there that would afford a tour that is NOT the ordinary "public" tour that could very well include test rides (as passengers for sure, drivers, not sure ... yet) in the Vette's and/or XLR's. So ... we have a year ... but keep these points in mind so the main event planners can create an agenda accordingly. |

Just got off the phone with Kart Kountry. They have handled groups of 100 to 150 people without very long waits. Prices normally $4.00 per ticket will be discounted to $2.50 assumming we buy 100 or more laps. I am to confirm info/pricing 90 days out. If needed they have a Party Room that holds 100 for $20 clean up fee. If it's REALLY hot we may rent this as a place to cool down between runs. We can bring food/drinks but alcohol is strictly prohibited. This message has been edited by Marty Usher on 07-25-2005 at 01:34 PM |

Uh oh - Carlisle is July 7-9 next year. I totally forgot about that event when picking dates. I avoided Power Tour, & Woodward Dream Cruise. This is really the only week I will be be in town, avoid holiday weekends, and get decent hotel rates by avoiding Citywide conventions here. I wonder how many people this will effect? |

Yes it does conflict with Carlisle. I think we will leave Carlisle Sunday morning and drive straight to Louisville. It will be a long day, but that happens sometimes. |

Gordon/Dave - if it helps any, Monday's plans are just for local site seeing - no long cruises so you would have time out of the driver's seat after a long drive Sunday. |
