Went to the dentist today. What do you do while sitting in the waiting room? Think about how much this is going to cost? Think about anywhere you would rather be than sitting in the dentist's office? Or read magazines? So, while reading the May 2013 edition of Texas Highways magazine, what was in there but a short discussion of Fredericksburg. There were various highlights discussed. For the avid book readers or intellectuals in the group (anyone...Bueller?), there is a huge collection of rare books at a local bookstore highlighted. But if you're like me, I'm not going all the way to Fredericksburg to read no stinkin' books, unless they serve alcohol! But what really caught my eye was a discussion of a place called Street Dreams (Streetdreamstexas.com). It is not a museum or showroom, but rather a working classic-car showroom that welcomes walk-ins. "We keep 60 or 65 old cars here." Additionally, they talked about the National Museum of the Pacific War. It is highly rated and reported as one of the top four destinations for history buffs. Looks like Jason, Kim and the kiddos are totally out for that week, work and school schedules just won't work. At this point my schedule now has some major conflicts with work, I may try to run over for a day, but really not sure if that is going to be possible yet. Hope things might change before then for any of us, but it may be a last minute decision if time allows. ------------------ |

We are set,, Mother in-law has sitter Hotel booked from sat - sat Sent Marty registration money sent Ron T-shirts money Now all we need to a group a friends to drive over with, already called Angela to put wheels in motion... All the car needs is inspection, tag updated , 2 O2 sensors to be replaced... Good waxing... and we are good to go.... |

Glad to have you with us Jim! It's been a while. Don't worry about the inspection. Mine still says 09.  (But I have been thinking about getting it done. I'll see what kind of time I have. I do have the current tags for it tho. Should I put that on the car? LOL.) |

Sorry to say I won't be making this one, at least as far as I know. Kristian asked me to attend his school trip to Austin that same week with him. I don't know how many more times my son who is now 16 will ask me to go with him to school events, so I'm not missing this time with him. I know all of the kids with Kristian will be at Schlitterbahn on Friday, so I may run and try to catch up with everyone that day, but will probably be in the Challenger and not the Prowler.
