I will be taking I-80 most of the way with the Prowler. I don't know how it is out west.

" I don't know how it (I-80) is out west."

Once you get to central Illinois, I-80 is usually a smooth trip through Iowa, Nebr., and into Colo. at Julesburg, where you will take I-76 at the split,,,,,, then to I-25 south.

Thanks A/C, that's the route I am taking. I-80 is only a mile and a half from my house and it is the most direct. Just a little over 1000 miles.

I went on a bus trip once that way but have never driven it especially in a Prowler.

I did find this guide for major roads and especially interstates. It tells you all the exits by mile marker, if it has gas food and lodging. It doesn't give names of gas stations, restaurant, names or motel names but it gives you the distances to the next exit especially if you are driving a car with a small gas tank like the Prowler.

I was hoping to go, but it cannot happen. My plan was to take US 36 out of Indy and I think takes you most the way.

Have heard it is a great trip across the country

Hope everyone has a great time and shares with pictures

What is the anticipated weather for this event? Hot, cold? Rain, or snow?

My wife waxed the car and trailer today, just about everything is packed the Prowler is facing out the garage door and the trailer is hitched behind it. With luck we will be leaving in the morning. This a crappy picture from my security camera.

onecatnodog,
Hello, I am a relatively new Prowler owner and new to the site. Was talking with Ken this week about door panels and he mentioned the Colorado event. Bummed I didn't know about it earlier - but - if I can wrangle a couple last minute days off work could we join you on Tuesday at the bridge?

On our way. Hit rain and hail in Indianapolis, then just really heavy rain down to St. Louis yesterday. Raining when we left this morning, but cleared up by Kansas City. Not a cloud in the sky here in western Kansas. Found a car wash and got the truck and trailer cleaned up. I'll save the prowler for Denver. Should be at the hotel by noon tomorrow. Hope everyone is having a safe and uneventful trip out.

I-80 in Iowa was a real good Prowling road but I-80 in Nebraska is a great road. Saw a Schawns truck in the median and a 40 foot goose neck trailer and truck jacknifed in the ditch on the Westbound side but other than a few small work zones we moved along pretty good today. We are at Gothenberg, Nebraska for the night. It looks like 306 miles to Denver tomorrow.

Well, sitting in the airport in Ft Myers, FL waiting for our flight to Denver. It's delayed 4 hours...ugh. Mechanical issues. We will make it, I think... but a lot later than we had hoped.

A real bummer attending a Prowler event and leaving the Prowler at home in the garage, but there was no other practical way for us to attend. It is a little over 2000 miles for us and we just don't have enough time to drive that distance. Good to know we will see some old friends and make some new friends too.

See you all there eventually.

Jim, I know there are supposed to be at least 5 other Prowler members here that you met in TN last October, not including us.

We did finally make it. Now will be looking for other owners....as soon as my wife gets everything unpacked!

It finally happened to me tonight. We had a barbecue at Grant's house this evening and he has a nice setup for entertaining in his back yard. I didn't get any pictures but it is impressive. After the barbecue most were going to a drive in theater but we were not going. I tried to be the first one out of the cul de sac because we had about 20 Prowlers filling it up. Luck was not on my side and a couple of cars blocked my path. They started moving and parked along the curb in formation so they could travel together to the drive in. I made my move and passed all the cars up because I planned on going to a convenience store and then go back to the hotel. I looked behind me and a bunch of people thought I was the leader and caught up to me. I asked my wife, are they following us or do they know where they are going. I drove a mile or so and there was a nice place to pull over and they all pulled in behind me. I got out and went to each of the four cars and sure enough they were following me. I apologized
For leading them down the wrong road. I hope one of the four knew the address of the drive in.

It has been said before, if there are no pictures, nothing happened. It would be nice to see them posted in the event photo's section with a link within this topic. JMO

Could someone set up a National Event 2015 in the Event Scrapbook, so we can post to it...? Or can I do that via MyScrap Book (is it the same thing)? Here are a couple...

AND

The bridge really is leaning to the side the cars sit on, some places there are gaps between the boards as much as an inch wide, and it creaks and groans as you drive across (gave me the heebee geebees)

We were there about 30 years ago and they were working on the bridge, no cars allowed, only foot traffic. There were guys on top working on the cables without any safety equipment or life lines. My kids were pulling the upright cables making the bridge sway. I told them to come to the middle of it so I could get ahold of them.
