Look at the photos closely....the cat converters are now completely out of the engine compartment! Anyone now wondering what the under hood temps are now? I would have to guess a lot lower!.....maybe the K&N cone intakes might be drawing less hot air with this set-up? ------------------ |

Buddy Dean (Prowler Pro) isn't planning on being there but I am hooking up with John & Patty and CJ & Bob. I am planning on driving my car out (hope weather cooperates) and you can see the headers and straight ypipe on my car. We are planning on doing a couple of cruises around the area so why not plan on joining us. We will be at the Aladdin. See ya there. ------------------ |

Those of you attending SEMA, need to contact Steve and Debbie Faint. Two wild and crazy people with a red cat. You'll enjoy their company for an evening. |

Dan Now that Dean's headers fit supercharged cars when are we going to see a set of Prowler Pro's headers on your car? Accompanied of course by lots of pictures to document the installation. ------------------ |

Wow - just hit submit and my reply vanished - guess I'll try again! Wayne - I assume you are kidding about getting as much extra power as a SC? Did you by chance have before and after dyno or G tech runs? My new custon headers from Westech netted me 12 more RWHP over the Paxton shorty headers - both without cats. I pick the car up at Westach tonight with header version 2 and we'll see if there is more improvement. If Dean's header really do make as much power as a SC, he will sure sell a lot of them. I have been running without cats for about 30,000 miles. I have not measured under hood temps, but it sure loweres the amount of heat coming into the passenger area! Marty ------------------ |

Did I mention that Dean also sold me the gears! So with the low end torque in my setup, if we go the the Police Academy down the street from my office in Houston, TX and run on the street course, I would be happy to prove it to you. You run on closed streets one at a time, right & left turns for best time to complete the course. Driving like you just stole the car and the Police are after you. Oh-yea, remember that yellow is the fastest color. ------------------ |

Sorry, but I don't believe for a minute that putting a set of headers on will give you blower size horse power. I would be shocked if you picked up 20 hp tops. Swapping the gears may make it feel much better with the headers, but making that much more hp and handling a SC prowler, no way. |

Nice setup with the removable Cats. Looks like they're pretty close to the floor with the relocation though-do you think long term use will cause floor damage from the heat? Those babys get pretty hot! |

See the comparison chart on the prowler pro web site. It said 14.1 for my headers & gears to 13.79 for Paxton supercharger. If I add Nitrous I will be down to 12.8 and have just $5200.00 & installed myself. So the rumor must be true. http://www.prowlerpro.com/comparisons.html |

Gee, I wonder what would happen if a Paxton car had Prowlerpro gears?, headers?, and a high stall torque converter?. And some other goodies. What would the rumor be then? Take your car to the track, or run someone, everyone brags on here, yet very few actually run. ------------------ This message has been edited by jd2ksilver on 10-20-2003 at 10:43 PM |

WAYNEW, Let's put the debate to rest. I have a Mustang dyno and invite you to come by and we'll get your HP and torque curves and compare them against a stock Prowler and a Prowler with a Paxton supercharger. The Mustang dyno can also do a quarter mile run which is surprisingly close to the numbers you'll get at a track. Drop me an email and let's setup a time to get together. BTW, Your Prowler will pass Texas emission tests without the cats installed.
